Monday 10th July - bike *** Around Felixstowe - sunny .

After pumping up our tires yesterday I was expecting to go out for an early morning ride with Mag but when I woke she had already gone out for a walk so I decided to head out on mine as I was hoping to get out windsurfing later! I left home at 6.45 in wall to wall sunshine biking past the park at the Grove to Marsh Lane where I spotted a hare, always lovely to see with the crops coming on well:) Past the delict house and onto the Deben path leading to Felixstowe Ferry, a quick trip around the boat yard before taking the path across the golf course and back onto the road at The Dip. Around to the prom at the Fludyers now fairly busy, loads of swimmers too, pas the peir to turned off and headed for home for breakfast and sort out my pics. Time to do my exercises in the garden arranging with Ian to check out The Dip for a foil if the wind arrived.

Monday 10th July - Windsurf *** The Dip at Felixstowe - sunny periods and hot.

Foil - 18.19 knot max, 16.71 knot ave, 10.36 knot hour, 16.67 knot mile, 33.54 km., 14.31 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and a Evolution Freeride foil with a Tushingham Thunderbird 6.5.

The breeze looked like to be filling in but with HHA (Landguard weather station) still offline, amd so pleased its back up and running now, we have really missed it! I headed down to The Dip dropping Mag off at Jaccobs Ladder for her walk, I arrived just after midday with Ian already there. It looked good with the breeze SW to SSW so with foil boards quickly set up I went for 6.5 while Ian rigged 5.6 and to start with this proved perfect although checking the wind ststa later it hardly made 15 knots! Some nice long runs out to sea in the sunshine, just lovely and there was enough wind to beat down the coast making to The Manor in 8 runs as the wind then dropped and I did not think I would get back, I nearly landed at Squiz Lane but there was some fishing so I gybed and started the slog back, with the wind now SE I could sail parrellel to the beach. Luckily the breeze picked up a little and I managed to pump up onto the foil and had a top 3 mile reach back, it was surprisingly lumpy today despite the fairly light winds. I soon caught up with a group of yachts sailing up the coast but the wind eased again so I ran back to the beach as Al and Paul were heading out with 7.3 but conditions were now pretty light. Tomorrow is looking promising for a fin sail but might have to wait for the rain to clear first!
